Ministry Cycles – CNC Machined MTB
Ministry Cycles are an exciting company based in Washington, US and founded by mountain bike industry veteran Chris Currie. Their aim is to push boundaries and create state of the art bicycle frames that are sustainable and use innovative digital methods for manufacture. We collaborated with Chris Currie to design and develop the Psalm 150 CNC frame incorporating the latest version of his patented 3V0 suspension system. Mike Levy of Pink Bike described the design as “one of the most stunning frames out there, with the angular lines and machined finish setting the Psalm 150 apart from pretty much everything else on the trails”
We collaborated with Ministry Cycles to provide an end-to-end product development service using design and manufacturing methods that are at the forefront of technology. All components of the Psalm 150 are fully CNC machined from high strength 7075-T6 aluminium. The front triangle assembly is machined into two hollow sections and bonded together using aerospace grade adhesives. The product has been developed using design for manufacture (DfM) techniques which drive the overall aesthetic and features of the frame. The innovative design and manufacturing method allows for high repeatability, low volume production, minimal tooling and setup costs, the ability to tune material thicknesses in different areas of the frame, aesthetic freedom when compared to welded tubular structures, full recyclability and a large reduction in the manufacturing process and supply chain steps.
